Agreement on mutual enforcement of court decisions in c. matters between the RoC and Montenegro

IMG_1441.jpg Minister of Justice of the Republic of Croatia Mr. Dražen Bošnjaković and vice-president of the Government and Minister of Justice of the Republic of Montenegro Mr. Duško Marković signed the agreement on mutual enforcement of court decisions in criminal matters. The agreement was signed on 9 September 2011 in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Croatia.

International cooperation between the two countries is improved with this agreement, particularly in fight against organised crime and corruption and their transnational spreading. Furthermore, international legal framework is thus created in relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Montenegro. It enables mutual enforcement of court decisions in criminal matters.

With this regulation the principle of equity and social rehabilitation of convicted persons is enabled, and in large scale it can be obtained by execution of the sentence in domicile state of a convicted person. Furthermore, signing of the agreement enables the undertaking of supervision over persons with withheld sentence.

It also enables the undertaking of execution of prison sentence or measures of deprivation of liberty passed to persons with the citizenship of the contracting state or with permanent or temporary address in the contracting state.
